= "$20,0000 per semester"
"$20,0000 / semester" divided by "16 weeks of class"
= "$1,250.00 per week"
"15 credit" hours is usually "5 classes" (worth 3 credit hours each)
"$1,250.00 / week" divided by "5 classes"
= "$250 a class per week"
ex. A basic studio class : 9:30am-12:00pm (2:30 total) > lunch break > 2:00pm-4:30pm (2:30 total) = "5 hours per class per week"
"$250 a class per week" divided by "5 hours per class per week"
= "$50 PER HOUR!"

ex(A) Today you showed up 1 hour late
= pull a $50 bill from your wallet and BURN IT!
ex(B) You skipped class today
= pull TWELVE $20 bills and ONE $10 from your wallet ($250!) and BURN IT ALL!!! (You most likely never have THAT much money free to blow at once. Imagine how terrible and sickened you would feel if you LOST $250 in cash.)

When I reminisce on the greatest students to emerge from the bowels of TIME, only one unifying characteristic is shared by all. THEIR DRIVE CAME FROM WITHIN. They didn't judge their progress according to how they compared to classmates. They challenged themselves! Thus is also true in the greater world beyond our walls! "The Institution" can at most be a nurturing environment. IT SHOULD NEVER DEFINE WHO YOU ARE, OR WHAT KIND OF WORK YOU PRODUCE. Look deep within to find your purest passions, and explore them through your work. If you merely strive for an "A", then your soul gets an "F"!

If you want to be an character animator QUIT SCREWING AROUND AND ANIMATE! Until you have accomplished a character that is alive and THINKING and FEELING, forget about fancy lighting and texturing! CHARACTER ANIMATION IS ACTING. Subtle nuance is THE KEY, and it takes continual FOCUS and DEDICATION. You KNOW how RARE convincing animation is. Your fear of not being able to meet your own high animation expectations materializes unconsciously as procrastination from animating by spending infinite time being anal about textures, lights, modeling, and story (Yes, I said STORY). Make a stick figure walk across a room cheerfully, be struck with a profound realization, and convincingly transition into a full emotional breakdown. NOW YOU'RE ANIMATING! Send it to PIXAR and you'll get a job as a character animator way quicker than you would with that mediocrely textured, lighted, modeled, and half-ass-animated cliche short story piece you dawdled away on all semester. Weed from your process all extraneous aesthetic considerations, unless you are happy being a jack of all trades and master of NONE (ie. employment in Cleveland).
